In 2022, the Black Business Scholarship was created in partnership with HeavieTalk Media. This micro scholarship was created to provide support and funding to Black businesses. The scholarship is run via a nomination system allowing individuals to nominate a Black business or Black business owners to nominate themselves. Since its inception, we’ve received more than 500+ nominations and awarded $2,000 in funding through the support of donations.

After deep consideration in 2024, we opted to change the format of the scholarship. The Black Business Scholarship is now offered annually. The annual scholarship cycle will open on June 17 and close on August 30. One recipient will be awarded a micro scholarship between $1,000 - $2,000. Eligible applicants must: reside and operate in the United States, be a legally registered business, and be a Black-owned and operated business.
